The food here is far beyond a standard pub meal! The decor is fun and quirky from decades before and the staff are incredibly friendly. We had a little hiccup with our meal and they couldn’t be more accommodating. Even offered our toddler a bowl of chips while we waiting for our meal to keep her entertained. Would recommend booking as it can get quite busy!

Had a fantastic sleep in very comfortable room. Decor is brilliant through out the hotel. Really tastefully decorated. Meal was sensational in comfortable lounge. Well done too all involved.

Magnificent hotel. The history and artwork is superb. The very very special think for me was the dessert lemon tart. Magnificent. Normally I drink beer and red and main course. But the dessert was spectacular. Highly recommend.

Stayed overnight here & it was definitely a highlight of our whole trip. Super simple accomodation, but amenities were good & staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was so quirky and fun. Plus, the food was great (amazing crispy chicken schnitzel). There was something so novel about staying upstairs of a pub… 🍻 We had an awesome night, recommend!

An evening spent at the Victoria Hotel, Dimboola on a Saturday night is to discover the heart beat of this quirky, country town. We managed to book the last available table. Brimming to overflowing with diners, nostalgic paraphernalia and generous servings, we found our way to a room referred to as the Left Elbow. Sidney Nolan paintings, posters of Jack Hibbard’s Dimboola, a sumptuous nude, landscapes and more adorned the walls from floor to ceiling; antiquated books, pianos, mannequins, teacups, a paper-mache horse all vied for attention. We found our name on a laminated card and melted into the scene. Many apologies were made for the absence of music, we didn’t mind. The arrival of dinner recaptured our senses. I had the pumpkin, mushroom and onion risotto and my husband had the pork belly risotto, both from the specials board and we indulged ourselves with the perfectly fried and seasoned chips with aioli . All delicious, but the undeniable highlight was the house made warmed honey cake with sauce and ice cream We ordered one to share but there was easily enough for four. We enjoyed the evening and food so much that we were back for lunch the next day. We were not disappointed with the seared salmon, gnocchi with beef ragu, followed by the lemon tart. I noticed that they were finalists in the Australian Hotel Association’s awards for excellence, it did not surprise me. I asked the owner Meryn how long they had been running the pub, 11 years she answered exclaiming that there had been nothing there but laminated tables when they arrived. That is certainly not the case now.

This is one of the best country pubs we’ve ever had the pleasure of eating at. We enjoyed a delicious Saturday night dinner and then returned for Sunday lunch. Meran and her team could not have done more to look after us and our dog, Max. We had the calamari and it was absolutely delicious- delightfully tender and seasoned beautifully. We also tried the brownie dessert and it was sooo good. Very generous serve too. The prices for both food and drinks are very reasonable. Can’t remember the last time we were able to choose from so many nice wines priced from mid$20s to $30 a bottle. The pub itself has a such lovely old world charming vibe. You can’t go wrong here.

What a great country pub. This will be our half point when driving to Melbourne. Retro bohemian vibe in bedrooms and dinning area. Excellent classic pub food, I had ribs and wife had chicken party, yum! Owners make their own beers which were nice. Beds comfy and air-conditioned worked well all night (very hot weather). Thank you to the owners for an enjoyable stay. Classic Aussie pub. This would be fun for families or couples or even a group of friends on the way to Melbourne.

We stopped here for lunch on our way from Melbourne to Adelaide and so glad we did. A beautiful old pub full of history, character, and interesting treasures. The food was fantastic, with huge portions. We were so full we skipped dinner. Washed down with a Strongbow dry cider, my favourite! The staff were warm and friendly and it was obvious how much care and passion goes into this place. Thanks for a wonderful experience, we wished we could have stayed longer.
